The episode begins with Hae-Rang (played by Kim Yoo-Jung), a young, feisty, and kind-hearted woman from a noble family who lives with her grandmother, Wol-Sung. Hae-Rang's life takes a dramatic turn when she meets a mysterious and handsome young man, Lee Jae (played by Lee Joon), who saves her from a group of thugs. As she gets to know Lee Jae, she learns that he is actually Lee Yul (played by Lee Hyo-shi), the Crown Prince of Joseon, who is hiding his true identity.
