Sitcoms are rarely critiqued on their cinematography, but Young Sheldon deserves special mention. Because the show is set in 1989/1990, the set decoration is rich with detail—wood paneling, vintage t-shirts, and the distinct aesthetic of a Texas suburban home.

Solid. The ethical meat dilemma is classic Sheldon, but the episode wisely balances it with Missy’s “middle child sadness” and Mary’s exhausted parenting. The fried egg scene (no spoilers) is both funny and oddly touching.

Young Sheldon is shot digitally in (likely with Arri Alexa cameras), and this episode’s 4K presentation (available on HBO Max / Max , Amazon Prime Video (purchased), or iTunes in 4K HDR/Dolby Vision) offers a noticeable upgrade over 1080p.
