Fifteen years later, Race to Witch Mountain is rarely cited as a classic. Yet, it deserves a reassessment as a superior example of the "reboot" genre. It respected its source material without being a slave to it. It provided a thrilling ride for younger audiences unfamiliar with the original while offering enough winks and nods for older fans.
