Longitude meridians are a series of lines that converge at the poles and are spaced at regular intervals of one degree apart. These lines are not parallel to each other, and their distance from each other decreases as you move from the equator towards the poles. The meridians are used to measure the distance east or west of a point from a reference meridian, which is the Prime Meridian.
