Dishwasher Drain Hose ^new^ - Blocked

The dishwasher was rendered fully operational after clearing the blocked drain hose. No damage to the drain pump or control board was observed. With the recommended preventative measures, normal service life should resume.

Before you start taking things apart, check for these tell-tale signs that your hose is the culprit:

Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker. You should also turn off the water supply valve, typically located under the sink.

| Location of Blockage | Mid-section of hose, approximately 30 cm from pump outlet. | | :--- | :--- | | | Combination of grease, food debris (small fibres, coffee grounds), and solidified soap scum. | | Contributing Factors | Kink in the hose (minor) plus insufficient pitch from dishwasher to drain connection, allowing sediment to settle. |
