Amidst this struggle, Muthu falls in love with Kavitha (Soundarya), a schoolteacher who has recently moved to the village from the city. Kavitha represents modernity and education. Initially, she finds Muthu’s methods archaic and violent. However, the song "Vanathu Veedhiyil" marks the turning point where she witnesses his genuine love for the people and the land.
