The PS2’s Emotion Engine is notoriously complex to emulate. Rendering twice the frames requires nearly double the CPU power. A budget laptop that runs Persona 4 at native 30 FPS will choke on a 60 FPS patch. Some PCSX2 forks or old tutorials claim "Native 60 FPS" for any game. In reality, many titles simply interpolate frames, creating a "soap opera effect" without actually increasing input responsiveness.
