The episode ends with Joe visiting Peach’s townhouse. He retrieves a hidden key Peach had kept—a key to a storage unit containing Beck’s private writings, photos, and mementos (including a diary Beck kept about Joe). Joe takes the diary. Meanwhile, Karen Minty (the new manager at the bookstore) grows suspicious of Joe’s late-night activities in the basement. Beck, unaware of any of this, tells Joe she loves him for the first time. Joe says “I love you” back, but the camera lingers on his cold, calculating expression, hinting that his obsession is far from romantic—it’s possessive and dangerous.
The title "Living with the Enemy" is a clever double entendre. From Joe’s perspective, Peach is the enemy—a manipulative socialite trying to pull Beck away from him. From the audience's perspective, Beck is literally living with her enemy: a man who has already committed murder to secure her affection. This episode highlights: you s01e05 pdtv
