The breakout heart of the ensemble, however, belonged to as Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell. In a lesser actor’s hands, T-Bag would have been a cartoonish monster—a racist, predatory killer with a limp and a folksy drawl. Knepper, instead, crafted a character of chilling complexity.
