Reviewing Prison School is a difficult task because it requires looking past a surface layer that is, frankly, repulsive to many. If you judge a book by its cover (or its genre tags), you see a generic ecchi anime/manga about boys being perverts. But to dismiss it as such is to miss out on one of the most intense, hilariously written, and artistically distinct comedies of the last decade.
