By analyzing International Maritime Bureau (IMB) data, examining the operational models of pirates in the Gulf of Guinea and the Strait of Malacca, and contrasting historical methods with contemporary tactics, this paper demonstrates that modern piracy is a persistent threat adapted to 21st-century globalization.
