Click any column header once → sorts ascending. Click again → descending. But the real trick: → sorts by that column without resetting the previous sort order as a secondary key. Click again → descending
For the truly shortcut-obsessed, skip the GUI entirely.
A common mistake is confusing the "Force Quit" shortcut ( Opt + Cmd + Esc ) with the Activity Monitor shortcut. Activity Monitor allows you to "Inspect" and see why something is broken; Force Quit just kills the process. If you care about diagnostics, opening Activity Monitor via Spotlight or a custom shortcut is better than using the Force Quit menu.
