This paper develops men2_eu_vwgpx , a microsimulation model for fuel and vehicle expenditure responses among men aged 35–54 in 27 EU countries. The model combines vehicle usage data (VW – vehicle weeks) with the GPX (gasoline price index) to estimate price elasticities. Unlike standard models, men2_eu_vwgpx incorporates cohort-specific commuting patterns and car dependency in peri-urban areas. Preliminary results show that men in this cohort reduce vehicle kilometers by only 0.11% for a 10% fuel price increase — much lower than the EU average (−0.23%). The model is calibrated on 2019–2024 EU transport microdata. men2_eu_vwgpx
