Note: Audacity does not have a built-in "Auto-Tune" effect. This guide uses the free GSnap plugin (Windows/macOS/Linux).
What You Need
Audacity (latest version) GSnap (free download from GVST)
Step 1: Install GSnap
Download GSnap.dll (Windows) or GSnap.vst (macOS). Copy the file to your Audacity Plug-Ins folder (e.g., C:\Program Files\Audacity\Plug-Ins on Windows). Restart Audacity.
Step 2: Enable the Plugin
Go to Effect → Add / Remove Plug-ins... Find GSnap in the list, check the box, and click OK . how to do autotune in audacity
Step 3: Prepare Your Vocal Track
Record or import a vocal track. Double-click the track to select the entire clip.
Step 4: Apply GSnap (Auto-Tune)
Select the vocal track. Go to Effect → GSnap . In the GSnap window, set:
Key → e.g., C (Major) or A (Minor) – match your song’s key. Scale → Major or Minor . Threshold → -30 dB (captures most notes). Attack → 10 ms (faster correction). Retune Speed → Faster = robotic (e.g., 0 ), Slower = natural (e.g., 250 ).
