For many new filmmakers, the "Soft On Face, Hard On Body" technique is a gateway to "The Cinematographer's Framework". It teaches that lighting isn't just about illuminating a subject; it's about and creating layers .

: His "philosophy" has inspired the Andre Sofhob Award , given annually by The Wandering DP to rising cinematographers like Tim Thompson (2020) and Tim Pfautsch (2022) . Practical Application andre sofhob cinematographer

By using "harder" tools like Fresnel lenses, barn doors, or spotlight attachments on the body while keeping the face soft, DPs can mimic the natural high-contrast look of window light or architectural lighting seen in high-end cinema. For many new filmmakers, the "Soft On Face,

In darker sequences, which seem to be a playground for his artistic sensibilities, Sofhob does not fear the absence of light; he embraces it. He utilizes negative space and deep shadows (chiaroscuro) to force the audience’s eye toward specific details—a twitch of an eye, the nervous tap of a finger. Sir,

Even though I am not intelligent enought to follow the above and get the ESPN projections to download by themselves, I use https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/projections/qb.php?week=draft which is an consensus of 5 projection sites (NFL, CBS, ESPN, numberFire and FFTODAY) and has an easy download button. Unfortunately, I wanted to only look at the ESPN projections and the site requires you to pick 2… strangely enough. Just realized this is from 2013 so this may be moot but thought I would share

Thanks, Jeff! We provide a consensus of even more projection sites than that! The benefit of doing it in R (for those who are so inclined) is not having to do it “manually”, which can save time when performing analyses etc. Hope that helps!
