
Yes. If a stranger sends you a message or a friend request, you can open their profile from the chat or the request notification and follow the same steps (the three dots in the top right) to block them immediately.
The user remains in your contact list, but they are restricted. They cannot message you, and you will not see their updates. Most importantly, you can easily unblock them later if you change your mind. From their perspective, if they try to message you, they will receive a notification stating that the message was successfully sent but "rejected."
