The rapid adoption of mobile payment systems in Latin America has significantly advanced financial inclusion, with Nequi emerging as a dominant force in Colombia. However, this democratization of banking has simultaneously lowered the barrier to entry for cybercriminal activities. This paper analyzes the phenomenon of financial fraud within the Nequi platform, specifically focusing on social engineering tactics such as the "Paquete Económico" scam. By examining the friction between user experience (UX) design intended for ease of use and the necessity for transactional security, this study highlights the vulnerabilities inherent in instant payment systems and proposes educational and technical countermeasures.
