The third season follows Michael Scofield as he is incarcerated in the hellish Penitenciaría de Estado de Sona in Panama. Unlike Fox River, Sona is ruled by the inmates after a bloody riot drove the guards outside the perimeter. Michael’s mission is to break out a fellow inmate, James Whistler, at the behest of The Company, who are holding Lincoln’s son and Sara Tancredi hostage to ensure cooperation.
