The darker side of anonymous movies involves whistleblowers and activists. In 2015, a documentary about corporate surveillance titled Nobody’s Watching was released without a director’s credit. Later leaked emails revealed the director was a former employee of a tech giant who feared lawsuits and blacklisting. By staying anonymous, they protected their career—and their safety.

The group primarily utilized the x264 codec to deliver 720p and 1080p BluRay rips. Their files were often slightly larger than YIFY's (averaging ~2.1 GB compared to ~1.7 GB for 1080p), but users frequently cited better bitrates and fewer compression artifacts.
