Advanced Startup Windows 11 [upd] [ WORKING — 2026 ]

Advanced Startup is the controlled release valve for this pressure. It is the "God Mode" that Microsoft permits. It is a space where the OS admits, "I am broken," or "You know better than I do." It is a necessary concession that no amount of artificial intelligence or automated patching can replace the human intuition of a skilled troubleshooter.

| Tool | Best used when... | | :--- | :--- | | | You installed a bad app or driver yesterday. Requires restore points to be turned on. | | Startup Repair | Windows loads to a black screen or blue screen (BSOD) immediately after the logo. | | Uninstall Updates | A recent "Quality Update" (Patch Tuesday) or "Feature Update" (22H2 to 23H2) broke your Wi-Fi or audio. | | Command Prompt | You need to manually fix the boot sector ( bootrec /fixboot ) or check the hard drive ( chkdsk c: /f ). | | Startup Settings | This is where Safe Mode lives. Click this, then press Restart , then press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode. | | UEFI Firmware Settings | Need to change boot order, enable TPM, or turn on virtualization? This reboots you directly into the BIOS. | | System Image Recovery | You made a full backup drive image. This restores everything (OS, apps, files) from that image. | advanced startup windows 11
